Our Leadership Team
Mr. Masih was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Cabot Credit Management in 2017. He has been the President and CEO of Encore Capital Group since June 2017.
Previously, as President of Midland, Mr. Masih managed internal call centres, decision science, legal collections, marketing, and all other domestic operations. He also oversaw Encore’s Asset Reconstruction Company, which is buying debt portfolios in India. Prior to this at Encore, he served in three roles: Executive Vice President, U. S. Debt Purchasing Operations, Senior Vice President of legal collections operations, and Senior Vice President of corporate development. Before Encore, Mr. Masih was Vice President at Capital One Financial Corp, holding senior roles in collections and recoveries among other roles. Prior to joining Capital One, Mr. Masih was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company and a Manager at KPMG Consulting.
Mr. Masih earned an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India.
Jonathan C. Clark
Jonathan C. Clark is Encore's Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, serving in this capacity since February 2015. In this role, Mr. Clark is responsible for managing relationships with the investment community, leading capital raising efforts, and for financial reporting, treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis, corporate development and strategy functions. He joined the company as CFO for Encore's subsidiary Midland Credit Management in October 2014.
Before joining Encore, Clark was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SLM Corp., also known as Sallie Mae. During his time at Sallie Mae from 2008 until 2013, Clark increased investor value, reestablished the organization as a major player in the securitization market, and guided the company during the global financial crisis. Prior to joining Sallie Mae, Clark served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Securities from 2000 to 2007, after having served in various executive roles at Prudential Securities, The First Boston Corp., and a variety of other companies during his career. Clark earned an economics degree from the University of Virginia, and a master's degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School.
John Yung joined Encore Capital Group in July 2015 and currently serves as President, International and Cabot Credit Management. In this role, Mr. Yung oversees all of Encore’s European businesses, our investments in Latin America, and the Encore Asset Reconstruction Company (EARC) in India.
Prior to assuming his current role in May 2023, Mr. Yung served as Senior Vice President, Chief Global Strategist and Growth Officer, where he was responsible for overseeing and guiding the strategic direction of the company and the global development of new products and markets across Encore. He has also previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Baycorp, a former Encore Capital Group Company, leading a turnaround of the Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Before joining Encore, Mr. Yung was a co-founder of ZenBanx Holding Ltd., an international fintech company which was acquired by SoFi Technologies, Inc. Prior to that, Mr. Yung held several positions at ING Direct USA, including Head of Consumer Lending and Head of Customer Research and Analytics. Mr. Yung also served in executive positions with Bank of America and MBNA.
Mr. Yung earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with Honors, from the University of California Davis, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Duke University.
Paul has 35 years’ experience in the financial industry, where he specialises in credit risk, financial crime and International Operational management. He started his career at Barclays aged 17, and his previous roles include Risk Director for Barclays Bank and Group Risk Director at Santander.
Paul joined Wescot in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer, before being named Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Cabot Credit Management acquired Wescot in 2017 and this led to Paul taking on leadership responsibility for all of Cabot’s UK entities in January 2021. His current role of Managing Director for Cabot UK sees him lead the teams that run Cabot Financial, DLC, Mortimer Clarke Solicitors, Orbit and Wescot.
Whilst at Barclays Paul participated in and successfully completed professional Banking qualifications which were complimented by experiential learning in the workplace. As a consequence, he is passionate about vocational learning being available to enable all colleagues to realise their full potential. The current award-winning apprenticeship programmes underpinning our colleague development opportunities is a cornerstone of our approach to this at Cabot.
Sean was a founder investor in Cabot Financial Ireland, serving as Managing Director from 2007. His remit was extended in 2016 to include Cabot’s Spanish business and in 2023 he was appointed Managing Director for Cabot Europe (France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal and Italy)
Sean has over 20 years’ experience in financial services. He was previously CEO of GE Money’s Irish business and Chief Operating Officer of GE’s UK home loans business. He also held senior management positions in Woodchester Finance and Nissan Ireland.
Before embarking on his business career, Sean held the rank of Captain in the Irish Defence Forces and served overseas on United Nations missions in Lebanon. Sean holds an MBA and Bachelor of Commerce degree from National University of Ireland Galway and a first-class honours Masters in Business Studies from University College Dublin.
Sarah joined Cabot in 2016 and was appointed as Group General Counsel & Company Secretary of the Cabot Group in January 2019. Sarah leads the legal, governance and company secretariat functions of Cabot across the UK and Europe and also sits on the Cabot Executive Leadership team. Sarah is also a director of The Credit Services Association (CSA) which is the only national trade association in the UK for organisations active in the debt collection and purchase industry.
Her previous career was spent at a top City of London law firm where she specialised in UK & International M&A, private and public capital raising, joint venture/shareholder agreements, intra-group reorganisations, company law and general commercial law and regulatory advice. Sarah graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Sussex, a Master of Laws (LLM) from King’s College, London, attended the College of Law London and holds the CII Award in London Market Insurance. Sarah is also a member of the Chartered Governance Institute.
David joined Cabot in 2013 and as CIO has overseen the technology function through a period of significant levels of change driven by acquisitions and consolidation.
In his early tenure David led the Cabot/Marlin DM9 Integration and creation of Digital capabilities in Cabot UK Debt Purchasing businesses.
More recently David has partnered with the Group Executive, aligning technology capability to support the Cabot’s Business Strategy, and leading technology upgrade and simplification programmes across the group.
Prior to Cabot, David held technology positions in the Banking and Retail sectors, and management roles at Equifax including Europe CIO and Strategy & Architecture Director.
David has a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Leeds
Andrew has more than 25 years’ financial services experience having worked in investment banking at DKB International and banking and acquisition finance at Clifford Chance LLP. In 2018 he completed a 16 year career at GE Capital where he worked in a variety of increasingly senior roles across the consumer finance division including 4 years leading the legal team responsible for mergers, acquisitions and dispositions for GE Money across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From 2009 he held various regional general counsel roles culminating in his appointment as Global General Counsel for GE Capital.
In January 2019 he joined Cabot Credit Management as Chief Administration Officer. During his time at Cabot he has had responsibility for the Legal, Compliance and Risk functions and in 2020 took on responsibility for Cabot’s strategic planning process. In May 2022 he was appointed to his current position as Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer.
Andrew grew up in South Africa where he completed a BCom LLB at the University of Cape Town. He is an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and following his move to London in 1998 he qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
David Connell was appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer at Cabot Credit Management in 2021.
David has 25 years' experience in the consumer finance and credit management sectors, including seven years spent at First National Group part of Royal Bank of Scotland.
David has worked at Cabot for over 17 years having joined the business back in September 2005 taking responsibility for the purchase of consumer debt portfolios. During this period, he has acquired well in excess of 1,300 individual portfolios with a combined Face Value in excess of £16bn. He has purchased and sold portfolios from across all asset types and worked with all types of financial services organisations such as; Retail Banks, Hedge Funds, Investment Banks, Retail Finance and Motor Finance Providers, Credit Card lenders and Fin Techs.
In his current role, David has responsibility across all geographical locations for portfolio investments, client relationships, co-investment partnerships and a growing number of commercial partnerships.
David has a bachelors degree in Humanities from the University of Hull.
